Unpleasant surprise for purchaser of Repossessed Goods

The purchaser of repossessed goods in America got a rather unpleasant surprise whilst going over his purchase.

The scenario began when a Bank could not get in contact with a female debtor in Florida who was in arrears on their mortgage. The Bank engaged the equivalent of mercantile agents to attempt to contact and locate the missing person.

The agents apparently interviewed neighbours, engaged a process server, located and spoke with relatives however the debtor could not be located.

The property was foreclosed, put for sale & subsequently purchased.

The purchaser of the repossessed goods arrived to the property to review the purchase. When looking at the car in the garage, he discovered a a clothed skeleton in the passenger side of the car. The remains are thought to have been the missing debtor.

Upon reviewing the foreclosure documents submitted there were affidavits of diligent searches that did not agree with Sheriff reports. The affidavits stated the searcher found no record of a license or car in the debtors name, yet the Sheriff confirmed that a vehicle located in the mortgaged property was registered to the debtor. Another point of interest was investigation fees for trying to reach tenants when the debtor lived alone.
