The KMART Wishing Tree is the nations largest Christmas gift appeal of its kind.
Since its inception in 1988 over 5.9 million gifts have been donated for people in need. This year the appeal aims to raise more than 500,000 gifts by Christmas Eve. Right up until Christmas Eve you can make a donation in the way of a gift for a baby, toddler, child, teen, adult or senior or make a cash deductible donation via the Salvation Army.
This year the staff at LCollect voted in favour of forfeiting our Secret Santa gifts and buying for this very worthwhile charity with General Manager, Philip Harvey, doing the honours of delivering the gifts to KMART at Broadway Shopping Centre.
We would ask that if possible you get into your local KMART store and make a donation, no matter how small or large, and support others in need in what can be a trying time for many families.
In the month of June 40 radio stations and TV stations across regional Australia have joined forces to raise funds for local community hospitals and to provide support for families with sick children.
A chance discussion on a radio station on the Central Coast of NSW, after a parking station refused to accept 5 cent pieces as payment, went nationally after a listener called in and suggested that those "useless" 5 cent pieces be collected and donated to the local children's ward at the hospital. This simple idea has now grown into a national fundraiser which has raised millions of dollars over the last 20 years.
LCollect is proud to have recently donated to this cause and urge you to do likewise. Any donation that you can make, large or small, helps this great cause.
